Title Info Now FAQs FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get a user number, name and password?
Any title insurance company employee can get started in either one of two ways: 1) through a temporary account using our Demo  section or 2) through a permanent account when your company signs a user agreement . Once an agreement is signed support@titleinfonow.com assigns you a company number and sends you a user name and password via email.

How are policies contributed?
Access Information Systems uploads policies from the databases of contributing companies. To get a copy of the required format, contact support@titleinfonow.com

Who are the contributors?
Current contributors are Burnet Title, Chicago Title, DCA Title, Edina Realty Title, General American Corporation, Old Republic and Stewart Title and Universal Title. New contributors are welcome to sign up at any time by contacting support@titleinfonow.com.

Do all the contributors provide information in the same way/format? Does Title Info Now! change the data in any way? No. Some contributors saved different kinds of information (see next question). How or what is submitted is not changed by TIN, but your data should be in a standard format to be provided to TIN. To obtain a copy of the of the required format please contact support@titleinfonow.com.

Why is information sometimes missing from the policy data, such as city, PID or legal? Information is missing because contributors, prior to 2000, didn’t save certain kinds of information. For example, one company didn’t save PID or municipality information and another didn’t save legal descriptions. Even with missing data fields you should find your policy because our search software crosschecks with another database to find the right property before searching for the policy you are requesting. Beginning in 2000 and going forward, all contributors are now saving all information needed for policy searches.

When am I charged – and how much?
You are charged $15.00 once you have gotten search results AND request index information on a specific policy. You are charged an additional $15.00 if you request an e-policy. After you have paid $15.00 for index information, if you do not request an e-policy, but choose to link to the contributing title company, they will then charge you at their standard prior policy fee, which may vary by contributor.

How many policies are represented in the system? Approximately 600,000. However, more are added each day.

Why aren’t “imaged” policies in the system? Will they be added in the future? Imaged policies are not currently available because TIN participating members wanted to first focus on those policies stored in data files since they were easier to cut and paste into documents. Imaged documents will be added in the future.

How much time or money is saved by using Title Info Now! instead of the traditional search process? The savings in time and money will vary depending upon how each user uses the site, but existing users who come to the site daily are receiving substantial savings.

Is Title Info Now! responsible for erroneous data? No, the individual contributors are responsible.

What kind and version of Internet browser should I use to access the site? Due to the platform and search functions of the site, your Internet browser settings are very important. The site functions best when used by Internet Explorer (versus Netscape) version 3.0 and above. If you are having difficulties with your browser, please contact support@titleinfonow.com.
